Location: Via Ghetto Guardiagrele (CH)
Description: The project aims at researching and analysing through a CLIL approach facts and events regarding the Second World War in our area, particularly considering some of the witnesses memories and experiences and sources in English. Students interviewed people involved in the war and in the internment experience, even over the phone calling a girl interned in Guardiagrele at the time now living in New York. The research also included visits to relevant sites and places recalling the war and meeting experts on the matter. Summaries, analysis, pictures and videos were finally elaborated in English to produce a site.
Location: Museo delle Genti d'Abruzzo
Via delle Caserme, 22 Pescara
Description: The virtual starting point of our CLIL project on traditional games and toys in Abruzzo was inspired by some ancient toys at Museo delle Genti d'Abruzzo in Pescara. We decided to analyse the psychological implications of playing on child development and to combine them with a research on local traditions.
The focus on our town was also analysed from another persepective, as our
students were involved in a school-job alternance experience including some Nursery Schools and Infant Schools in Pescara.
Students were asked to experiment some games and toys.
The project outputs are represented by a video with our pupils' voice over and a padlet illustrating the main steps of our project, the didactic activities and strategies and some example of scaffolding in order to highlight CLIL approach.
The module has been structured to provide a foreign language improvement of the artistic techniques during the Middle Ages and to consolidate the historical-artistic knowledge related to the Late-Gothic Age, the period in which Napoleone II Orsini commissioned the codex for the church of St. Francesco in Guardiagrele.
Location: Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta, Corso Elio Adriano, 19, 64032 Atri (TE)
Description: This clil didactic unit involved different subjects, dance, history of art and, obviously, english. It all started with a contredanse reconstructed by the dance history scholar Maria Cristina Esposito thanks to a manual from 1868, with the title CONTRE-DANCES FRANCAISES, written by Francesco De Sanctis, well preserved at the library De Meis in Chieti. First of all, the students studied and performed the historical dance. Then they looked for examples of dances in the paintings of our area, Abruzzo, discovering and studying the wonderful fresco cycle by Andrea De Litio in the cathedral of Atri. They analysed the architecture of the building, its paintings, in particular from the point of view of patronage, and the historical period in which they were realized.
Location: Contrada Rotacesta, 65014 Loreto Aprutino (PE)
Description: NO MANS LAND is a site-specific artistic and architecturale installation, realized by Yona Friedman and J.B. Decavele in the 2015, located in the countryside of Loreto Aprutino (Pe). It is part of the Yona Friedmans bigger open project MUSEUM WITHOUT WALL composed of various installations, “simple scaffolding where can be realized exhibitions and the public can enjoy the works freely". However, NO MANS LAND is conceived as “a place without owner opened to everyone” “to delete the idea of ownership” representing an example of ecology and “Eco-Democracy”.
The class IV B of the Liceo Artistico Chieti has worked on several aspects and topics related to NO MANS LAND including some movements of contemporary art from 60s. Together with another class of our school, they visited the site of the installation and experienced it through didactic games.
