Notes: Production of confectionery items including doughnuts are to be transferred from the Treforest site to other regional bakeries over the next two years. Greggs to invest in site to increase distribution capability and focus on production of sandwich bread. Workers have been told 90 to 120 jobs are to go over the next 12 months to two years, with consultation under way.

Notes: Greggs has entered a consultation period with staff at the site, which it has proposed transforming from a bakery into a ‘logistics centre of excellence’. Staff are reported to have said they fear up to 140 jobs could be lost. Greggs has stressed the site is not closing, and said the centre would have capacity to serve more than 400 shops.

Notes: Clydesmill Bakery to set to become a combined ‘centre of production and distribution excellence’ with increased shop distribution capacity for Scotland and production focused on certain products. Union Usdaw said restructuring at Clydesmill has put 100 jobs at risk, adding bakery staff are “very concerned about the future”.
