Focus Area: Healthy Relationship Promotion & Injury/Violence Prevention
Website(s):
Objectives: Currently we are working to expand Safe Dates programming to all schools and youth serving organizations in Eau Claire County as a system level intervention. We hope that by providing healthy relationship education to all youth in Eau Claire County it will produce social change in the community. The action team has started conversations with school districts about the sustainability of Safe Dates and the opportunity for continuation through school support. Another project we have started working on is creating a resource toolkit and training for youth serving professionals at schools and other organizations. The purpose of this toolkit and training is to give these adults (and potentially peer educators or advocates) the skills, knowledge, and resources to support young people to have healthy
relationships. The goal of the toolkit is that will be built into the orientation process for at organizations for adults working with youth. This change in internal systems would outlast the work of this action team.
