As most of rural councils in Madagascar, the main economic activities of the population are agriculture and stockbreeding. This council, where two important factories (Lazan'ny Betsileo, Clo Malaza) of wine are implemented is known all over the country for its production of good wine. Some associations of women are also very active. Their activities turn around breeding and production of honey.<br>

However, the council has actively participated in the 16 days activities, organized in the capital.<br>
