Meanwhile, the bases Giant Pandas dont know what all the fuss is about as they look on whilst eating bamboo, and the much smaller Red Pandas run about amongst the feet of the many tourists as they realize that lunchtime as arrived.<br>

The traditional red lanterns most commonly seen during the New Year period are present but are joined by an array of colors, as row upon row of multicolored lanterns illuminate the pathways down which people slowly push past one another as they work their way towards the food sellers, in order to taste Sichuans local cuisine. But for real authenticity, tourists and locals alike eat spicy Sichuan hotpot, accompanied by symbols of good fortune, such as the character fu, meaning luck, which is often turned upside down so as to symbolize increased fortune for the year ahead.<br>
